TaylorMade M5 Irons Detailed Review

They are a collection of irons that promise to give you greater distance and speed when playing golf out on the course. Injected with the technology to bring you the maximum level of speed, a stylish set that will be the envy of your friends, with the capability of transforming and improving your level of play, these irons are well worth considering.

When purchased, these irons come with a one-year guarantee meaning you can relax and play with confidence in the unlikely case that something does go wrong. They also come with steel shafts and grips as well as a case to keep them clean and mark-free. They also come with a great amount of craftsmanship and technology such as the Speed Bridge and an improved feel and playability.

When compared with its main competitor, the TaylorMade M6 irons, there are plenty of similarities, such as the intense technology, however, the M5 is designed to be much more compact meaning you can enjoy more workability and flexibility. The M6 boasts stronger lofts so if this is a feature that suits your style of play more, then this may be a consideration. The M5 irons are slightly more expensive but with the inclusions, I’d argue they are a better choice and investment.

Pros

  • Speed Bridge technology
  • Greater distance when hitting the ball
  • Compact head for more workability
  • HYBRAR Compression Damper
  • Speed Pocket technology

  • Could be a greater level of control
  • Could have a smoother feel
  • Expensive for beginners to the sport

Features and Benefits

Speed Pocket technology

This feature is one of the main attractions of these irons. Included on the sole of the irons, this particular feature allows more flexibility and greater speed for distance. This flexibility is what provides their immense forgiveness, enabling you to enjoy a much more consistent level of play and achievements. Due to the presence of the Speed Bridge technology, this feature enables players to enjoy high ball speeds, even when the hit has been misjudged.

Speed Bridge technology

The Speed Bridge technology is something the engineers at TaylorMade worked hard to achieve. This structure in the cavity of the irons provides the player with even more speed than ever before. This bridging structure provides a greater level of strength which in turn gives a greater ball speed whilst playing out on the course. The inclusion of the bridge ensures that the top line of the iron is supported which reduces the vibrations a player may feel when making an impact with the ball. This also provides a sweeter sound which can only be a positive benefit. This feature has the capability of uniting each element of your performance according to the iron. This enhances the energy transfer to provide a feel that you rarely enjoy in an iron designed to improve the quality of a player’s game.

HYBRAR Compression Damper

This particular feature is located behind the club face. The reason for this is to reduce any additional or unwanted vibrations which can have a negative effect on a players’ experience out on the course. In turn, this can give a solid feel when the ball is hit.

Tungsten Weighting

These irons are made with the very best materials which include tungsten weighting. They have been designed with a specialist team of engineers to ensure they have a tremendous level of forgiveness and distance, without compromising on the soft feel of the irons.

Enhanced playability

The M5 irons have a more compact head meaning they work even harder, provides better turf interaction and offers a good level of control when hitting the ball. These irons boast a 360-degree hosel and undercut, which increases the launch, consistency of the shots and distance whilst playing.

One year guarantee

With the added benefit of a one-year guarantee, you can relax and play knowing that your irons are covered. If you do notice or feel any weaknesses, or experience any issues, you can get in touch with Taylormade and they’ll be more than happy to assist.

TaylorMade M5 Irons - Social Proof

I decided to spend some time scouring the internet to see what everyone else thinks about these irons. I think they’re pretty incredible so I wondered if that feeling was felt anywhere else. Every review website I visited echoed my feelings exactly. It’s clear that a great of deal of work and engineering have gone into these irons and this hasn’t gone unnoticed. TaylorMade has really considered new players with its features and has really worked on improving the distance whilst getting the most out of the speed of the swing and ball hits. Whilst there is a general feeling that these irons don’t offer the best level of control and accuracy and they’re not the most stylish irons currently available on the market, the technology and price more than makes up for this. It’s clear that these irons suit a range of players from all sorts of abilities and needs and my opinion is a positive one, mirrored over the internet.

These are cheating. The 4-iron flies like a 7-iron. It’s like breathing thunder.

You can hit it right to left, or left to right. The engine is high-octane, too.
